Dr. Jeffrey Touma is an Interventional Spine Specialist
Dr. Touma practices at Coastal Orthopedic Associates in Beverly, MA. His clinical focus is Interventional Pain Management (fluoroscopic guided cervical and lumbar spinal procedures); Diagnostic Musculoskeletal Ultrasound (ultrasound guided evaluation and treatment procedures); Regenerative Medicine (PRP and stem cell treatments).
Dr. Touma is a physical medicine and rehabilitation physician with additional fellowship training in interventional spine procedures at the University of Michigan. Dr Touma utilizes a multidisciplinary approach for each patient that can consist of, but are not limited to, physical therapy, non-opioid oral and topical medications, as well as minimally invasive interventional procedures. These procedures are all done on an outpatient basis and patients go home the same day. Many of these procedures utilize live x-ray (fluoroscopy) or ultrasound to identify the problem area with precision.
Some common conditions that are treated include osteoarthritis (primarily of the spine, shoulders, hips and knees), lumbar radiculopathy (sciatica pain), cervical radiculopathy, tendonitis, sacroiliac joint pain, greater trochanteric bursitis, rotator cuff impingement syndrome, and other soft tissue injuries.
Dr. Touma believes in a holistic approach to medicine, and works with the patient to help them reach their goals. He believes in minimizing pain to improve his patients quality of life, and to get them back to enjoying their daily activities.
Dr Touma has been an athlete his whole life, and his own struggles with injuries are what brought him into the medical field. It’s because of this that he is passionate about the field he is in, and helping people get back to living their life.
